Levine, who was later joined by Travis Scott and Big Boi, led a marching band at the beginning of the 2017 song “Girls Like You,” but recent collaborator Cardi B did not join him onstage. The early-aughts nostalgia was amplified when the band broke into another old hit, “She Will Be Loved,” while lights spelled out “One Love” in the sky behind them. Maroon 5 started off its performance at the Super Bowl LIII halftime show with songs sure to please the fans of its debut album, Songs About Jane.
